In today’s real estate market and with the abundance of technology, sellers and buyers alike have tools available 24/7 at their disposal and often times at little to no charge to the buyer/seller. The topic of REALTOR commissions is one that is often discussed and because of the tools available, especially to the sellers – the idea of not using a REALTOR and simply marketing your home as FOR SALE BY OWNER can sometimes seem like a good idea. Another driving point for sellers choosing to go this route is the “Idea” of saving money and not having to pay commissions.
But is it really the best idea for you to market your home as For Sale By Owner? You may have the opportunity to pay less commissions with this route but you will be in charge of fielding calls and questions from anyone interested. Often times those who are interested will have their agent call you. Now we have a buyer who has a REALTOR, a professional, on their side – and you are fighting for yourself, and likely doing this with less much knowledge than the Buyers Agent is bringing on the buyer’s behalf.
Then there is the terminology of the contract documents and the negotiating process. How can you be sure – with no REALTOR on your side – that you are negotiating the best deal possible for you and your family’s best interest?
We could talk this over for many hours but if you are looking to sale a property – I would strongly encourage the use of a REALTOR to represent your best interest! Your home and the sale of it is an important task and should be handled with care and professionalism I would love to speak with you if selling a property is in your future.
